Morning Light's Abbie Hunt Bryce Home, is a twelve-bed terminal illness facility in the center of Indianapolis, serving the whole of the city and state.

Our mission is dedicated to serving terminally ill individuals who have nowhere else to turn. We provide a free home called The Abbie Hunt Bryce Home. We provide compassionate care to residents who would otherwise face the end of their lives without support, companionship, or dignity. At our Home, we strive to create a community where everyone is valued and treated with respect.

Many of our residents arrive after enduring hardship, and we believe their final days should be filled with warmth, care, and peace. At Morning Light, each day is an opportunity to honor our residents' lives, respecting their unique journeys and the legacies they leave behind.

Your generosity helps us maintain this essential service. Every donation fuels our mission, allowing us to offer round-the-clock care, home-cooked meals, and fulfilling experiences through programs like our Making Memories Campaign. This support transforms lives, ensuring each resident feels seen, loved, and supported in their final chapter.

Please consider giving. Your contribution, whether small or large, sustains Morning Light’s mission, creating a meaningful impact in the lives of those who need it most.

Four key facts about us

  • We run a nonprofit home for the terminally ill.
  • We are free of charge to all residents.
  •  We serve individuals with limited financial means or no safe place for their hospice care—ranging from those experiencing homelessness to beloved grandparents, and hardworking individuals who unexpectedly lost their jobs, and even homes, due to a terminal diagnosis.
  • We believe end-of-life care can mean making new friends and new memories. As one resident said, "My body is declining but my spirit is healing."

We specialize in providing a welcoming home where individuals can feel at ease as they face each day with a terminal diagnosis. We believe every new morning is a gift to be cherished and that every person has inherent value, dignity, and a unique story to share.

A Residents Testimonial

This beautifully written article about the life of our home was penned by Mark Dunn, a former resident of The Abbie Hunt Bryce Home, where he lived for over a year until this past July. For Mark, Abbie truly was a home for all seasons, and now it holds his memory alongside nearly 900 others who have found peace here since 2004. Some residents stay under the care of Morning Light for only days, some for weeks, while others, like Mark, share a longer journey with us. He was able to make new friends and memories during that time. This is at the heart of what we do, and we are deeply grateful for Mark's touching testimony of life in his—and our—home.

Our Making Memories Campaign

At Morning Light, our flagship Making Memories Campaign is a special initiative to ensure that individuals with terminal illnesses, whether young or old, can experience moments of joy, connection, and fulfillment during their final days. We believe every person, regardless of age or background, deserves something to look forward to—a reason to smile, new friendships to build, and passions to pursue.

Through this philosophy we create unforgettable experiences that bring residents’ dreams to life. Whether it’s fishing trip down the White River one final time, a behind-the-scenes tour at the Indianapolis Zoo, or a visit from a cherished choir singing their favorite hymns one last time, each moment is crafted to make the most of life. We’ve taken a lifelong Colts fan to see their team in action and the simple but profound joy of sharing a favorite restaurant  meal with loved ones and new friends.

In our home, we’ve served people from all walks of life—from 20-year-olds to centenarians, veterans of every branch, and devoted husbands who spent their lives caring for loved ones. Built on a foundation of love and compassion, The Abbie Hunt Bryce Home is a community that embraces the dignity of every individual. To keep this vision of end-of-life care alive, we need your support. Your generosity allows us to create these experiences and bring peace and joy to those in our care. Together, we can ensure that no one’s final days are spent in isolation or despair but are instead filled with warmth, meaning, and unforgettable memories.

We are built on love and compassion, and we need support this Holidays to keep our vision of end-of-life care alive.
